The 42nd Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference was held in Santa Cruz, California from April 29 - May 2, 2025. SRF would like to extend our gratitude to all those who sponsored, coordinated, presented, volunteered, and attended this year.

2025 SRF Conference Award Recipients
SRF is happy to announce the 2025 Award Recipients. JD Wikert was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Mort McMillen of McMillen, Inc. was recognized by the Restorationist of the Year Award. Joel Monschke of Stillwater Sciences received the Golden Pipe Award. Jennifer Carah of The Nature Conservancy, was acknowledged through the Gordon Becker Conservation Award.

SRF is currently floating two positions for streamflow monitoring. If you are interested in a seasonal field position that includes streamflow monitoring tributaries in Southern Humboldt/Northern Mendocino, please consider the Assistant Streamflow Monitoring Position. If you are interested in streamflow monitoring as well as education, outreach and administrative tasks based out of our office in Eureka then please consider the Streamflow Monitoring and Project Assistant position.
27th Annual Coho Confab

The 27th Annual Coho Confab will be held at Sandy Bar Ranch in the Mid-Klamath Watershed. Field tours will visit off-channel ponds, Coho refugia, floodplain restoration, Salmon River projects and Klamath dam removal viewing sites. SRF will post the agenda and open registration in June.

California Salmon and Steelhead Coalition Coordinator

Trout Unlimited (TU) seeks a full-time coordinator to help manage the activities of the California Salmon and Steelhead Coalition, a partnership between TU, the Nature Conservancy, and California Trout that focuses on the recovery of native salmon and steelhead on California’s north and central coast regions.

The Smith River Alliance invites swimmers and wild fish enthusiasts to participate in this year’s South Fork Smith River Fish Count to track the abundance of Coastal Cutthroat trout. Volunteers will also be on the lookout for the rare summer steelhead, spring Chinook salmon, and other species. More information and RSVP instructions can be found here.
