2017 Selected Conference Presentations Now Online

Please visit SRF's website to view selected presentations from this year's Conference. Presentations include the Plenary, Fish Passage from Tidewater to the Sierra, Central Valley Recovery Planning and Restoration, Sediment, and Reintroduction of Salmon into their Historic Habitats. We will be posting more soon.


20th Annual Coho Confab Registration Now Open

SRF, in cooperation with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Mattole Restoration Council, Mattole Salmon Group, and Sanctuary Forest, will offer the 20th Annual Coho Confab in the Mattole. The Confab will feature workshops focuses on coho recovery strategies and BMP land stewardship practices. 

Field tours will include the Mattole estuary where participants will see off-channel slough restoration, Heliwood placement, and riparian restoration, forest and fuels reduction projects, water conservation practices, stream bank stabilization. Tours will also include a tour of the Salt River estuary restoration and beaver dam analogues and groundwater recharge projects in the Mattole headwaters.

2017 Salmon Restoration Federation Award Recipients

July 25: SRRC Dive Training at Forks of Salmon

July 26: Spring Chinook and Summer Steelhead Dives

July 27: Spring-run Chinook Symposium

July 28: Klamath Rafting Tour of Restoration Sites and Thermal Refugia

Salmon River Restoration Council and Salmonid Restoration Federation will post the agenda and open registration in early June. Volunteer slots for the dives are limited and experience is preferred so sign up at www.srrc.org. If you are interested in presenting at the Spring-run Chinook Symposium, please submit an abstract to abstracts@calsalmon.org by May 31.


Save Our Salmon Benefit Concert and Seafood Dinner 

Commercial and Tribal Fishermen are hosting this exciting fundraiser and educational event to highlight salmon issues. The event will be held May 27 6pm at the Eagle House in Eureka. Attendees will enjoy live music, presentations about local community action to protect salmon, and a seafood dinner. Visit the Save Our Salmon event page for more information. 


Take Action for AmeriCorps

The federal administration’s recently released budget proposes to cut national service programs, like AmeriCorps. This community service program is an integral part of the watershed restoration field. Please learn more and make a call or send an email to protect this invaluable program.


Klamath Coho Fund RFP Online

The combined PacifiCorp Klamath River Coho Enhancement Fund and Bureau of Reclamation Klamath River Coho Habitat Restoration Program Request for Proposals is now live.  
The deadline for proposals is June 5th. Attendance at the May 10th Open House in Yreka is encouraged since many changes have been implemented since the combination of these programs.


Sanctuary Forest is Hiring

Sanctuary Forest is seeking applicants for the position of Water & Lands Program Assistant. Please find the job description and instructions on their website. Application deadline is May 15, 2017.


Greywater Workshop July 23

Join SRF for a Greywater Workshop and book signing with Laura Allen who has just published her second book Greywater Green Landscape.

This workshop will feature various greywater techniques and a demonstration project. SRF will post more details shortly.
