SRF is happy to announce that the 44th Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference will be held in Santa Barbara, California, on April 27 - 30, 2027, at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort.
The Initial Call for Proposals is now open; to submit a proposal for a workshop, concurrent session, or field tour, please fill out this form by Monday, August 24, 2026. The First Call for Abstracts will be posted in September 2026. Questions can be emailed to abstracts@calsalmon.org.

SRF and the Salmon River Restoration Council will convene the 2026 Spring-Run Chinook Symposium in Forks of Salmon on July 23 and 24, immediately following the planned Annual Cooperative Salmon River Spring Chinook & Summer Steelhead Dive. It will feature both presentations and field tours, offering opportunities to learn more about spring Chinook research and recovery efforts in the Klamath Basin and view restoration projects in a spring Chinook stronghold. 28th Coho Confab – Registration Rates Increases August 1

SRF with the support of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Fisheries Restoration Grant Program will host the 28th Annual Coho Confab in Caspar at the Jug Handle Creek Farm and Nature Center. This Confab will feature exciting projects on the Mendocino Coast, Navarro River, South Fork Eel and more. Field tour sites will include new large wood projects, water storage, off-channel ponds, riparian restoration, fish passage, and more!
The agenda is posted and registration is now open. Early bird rates are $250 and will increase to $300 on August 1. Participation is limited so please reserve your spot early. There are a limited number of rooms and bunkhouses available for those who would prefer not to camp. Email lindsay@calsalmon.org for rates and reservations.
2026 Grant Development Training for CA Tribes Pre-registration Extended to July 10, 2026
Salmonid Restoration Federation (SRF) and California Indian Environmental Alliance, with funding from NOAA Fisheries, are pleased to be offering an in-depth grant development and implementation training for California Tribes starting in September 2026.
Please complete this interest form by July 10, 2026, to receive more information. Registration will be limited to 35 people. The first Orientation will be July 21 from 1-2pm. The course is a six-month commitment and $150. Scholarships are available for tribal members.
Save-the-Date 2026 Steelhead Summit

SRF, and Alameda Creek Alliance with support from the Fisheries Restoration Grant Program will produce the Steelhead Summit in the Bay Area. The symposium will include a full-day General Assembly, field tours of Alameda Creek fish passage projects, and other projects from Pescadero to Marin County.

Sanctuary Forest Hike Program: Sinkyone Tribal Lands & Waters

Please join Sanctuary Forest and InterTribal Sinkyone Wilderness Council for an informative hike that will be held in the Sinkyone Wilderness State Park. The Sinkyone Council is a Tribal nonprofit that holds more than 4,530 acres of Tribal Protected Lands along the Lost Coast. Hike leaders will dive into the cultural history of the Sinkyone people, contemporary efforts by the Sinkyone Council and local Tribes to protect and restore their traditional lands and waters, especially along the coast. During 4-year terms, Committee members review and recommend land management projects supporting infrastructure maintenance, forest stewardship, water quality improvement projects, and more. Join Don McEnhill, Deputy Director of Russian Riverkeeper, to learn about a 358-acre restoration project along the Russian River that will support endangered fish (like salmon and steelhead trout) and help the community build resilience against future climate change.
