2026 Conference Proceedings and Thank You 
 
The 43rd Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference was held in Redding, California from April 28 - May 1, 2026. SRF would like to extend our gratitude to all those who sponsored, coordinated, presented, volunteered, and attended this year.

2026 SRF Conference Award Recipients

SRF is happy to announce the 2026 Award Recipients that were presented at the recent SRF Conference banquet. The Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to Su Corbaley who recently retired from the California State Coastal Conservancy, and Allen Harthorn, founder of Friends of Butte Creek. Toz Soto, Fisheries Program Manager for the Karuk Tribe,  was recognized by the Restorationist of the Year Award. Charnna Gilmore and Betsy Stapleton, Scott River Restoration Council, both received the Golden Pipe Award. Karuna Greenberg and Lyra Cressey, of the Salmon River Restoration Council were both honored with the River Advocate - Gordon Becker Conservation Award.

New 2026 Conference Merchandise and Books Now Available on SRF Online Store

2026 Conference Merchandise features artwork by Jackie Fawn (Yurok/Washoe/Filipina), a graphic illustrator who lives in Akwesasne, Mohawk territory in New York with her husband and daughter. Unisex shirts are available in a grey v-neck and women’s cuts are available in short sleeve blue and a long-sleeve sage green. There is also a small tote bag available with the 2026 design.
 
The Water Remembers: My Indigenous Family's Fight to Save a River and a Way of Life by Amy Bowers Cordalis are also newly available for purchase.

Save the Date: 2026 Steelhead Summit
November 5 - 7, East Bay

SRF, and Alameda Creek Alliance with support from the Fisheries Restoration Grant Program will produce the Steelhead Summit in the Bay Area. The symposium will include a full-day General Assembly, field tours of Alameda Creek fish passage projects, and other projects from Pescadero to Marin County. 

11th Spring-Run Chinook Symposium – Save the Date!
July 23 - 24, Forks of Salmon

SRF and the Salmon River Restoration Council are pleased to announce the 11th Spring-Run Chinook Symposium which will be held this summer on the beautiful Salmon River. The symposium will take place in Forks of Salmon on July 23 and 24 in conjunction with the Annual Cooperative Salmon River Spring Chinook & Summer Steelhead Dive. It will feature both presentations and field tours, offering opportunities to learn more about spring Chinook research and recovery efforts in the Klamath Basin, and view restoration projects in a spring Chinook stronghold. Stay tuned for the full agenda and registration details.

Save the Date: 2026 Coho Confab
Mendocino Coast, August 20 - 23, 2026
SRF is excited to be returning to the Mendocino Coast for the 28th Annual Coho Confab. This Confab will feature exciting projects on the Mendocino Coast, Navarro River, South Fork Eel and more. Field tour sites will include new large wood projects, water storage, off-channel ponds, riparian restoration, fish passage, and more! Event registration will likely open in May.
 

Watershed Stewards Program (WSP) Applications-Now Open
Due June 23, 2026

The Watersheds Stewards Program (WSP) is now accepting Corpsmember and Team Leader applications for its 33rd program year. WSP Corpmembers serve alongside environmental professionals for 10 months at sites throughout California. Learn more and apply here.

2026 FRGP Public Solicitation Notice Full Application Phase Open
Due June 4, 2026, 3pm

CDFW is now accepting full applications for projects under the Fisheries Restoration Grant Program (FRGP). The 2026 FRGP Proposal Solicitation Notice (PSN) (PDF) and 2026 FRGP Guidelines (PDF) outline the priorities and requirements to apply. Applications must be submitted via CDFW WebGrants.
