Presenter Bios

Tim Hoone 
 
Tim is an accomplished Program Director, Grant Writer, and Grants Manager with over 20 years’ experience in Tribal government and nonprofit management, and over 30 years of experience working in rural communities. As Community Development Director for the Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation, Tim has developed and maintained relationships among funders, agencies, and other Tribes to benefit Tribal citizens and the region.  He has been instrumental in securing millions of dollars in funding for housing, infrastructure, and program needs as well as in project implementation such as development of a Tribal housing subdivision and broadband fiber, and he spearheaded the effort resulting in the regional justice center at the Nation’s governmental campus. 
 
Tim lives in northern California where “the Redwoods meet the Sea”. When not working on a deadline he enjoys gardening and reading detective novels. 


 
Lyn Craig 
 
Lyn is a grants consultant with 30+ years' experience in project development, strategic planning, grant writing training, and development of successful funding proposals. Within the past decade she obtained more than $80 million in federal grants for infrastructure and program needs for Northwest Tribes, as well as other federal, state and foundation grants for counties, cities, districts, and nonprofits. Most recently she served for 12 years as the grant writer for the Nez Perce Tribe.  Previously, Lyn served as founder and executive director of a regional nonprofit organization serving 50 public libraries in eastern Oregon and as economic development director of Wheeler County, Oregon.  She is the recipient of two statewide 1st place awards in Oregon in regional strategic planning in sustainability.  
 
Lyn lives in rural southwest Washington where she spends spare time creating art, gardening, and exploring the Northwest.
