This field tour highlights watershed wide efforts to recover steelhead trout in the Ventura River Watershed. Participants will get to visit the Matilija Dam and hear the status of removal efforts, visit a recently completed fish passage project at the Wheeler Gorge Campground where four barriers to migration were removed, and learn about land acquisition/restoration efforts by the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy on their property. A few surprise stops are in the works to show a watershed wide approach to steelhead trout recovery.
