Gwen is a Senior Ecologist with Environmental Science Associates (ESA). Gwen has over 25 years of experience working throughout the West Coast specializing in restoration, compliance, mitigation banking, regulatory permitting, and strategic planning. Gwen holds a Master’s Degree from San Francisco State University’s Estuary and Ocean Science Center where she focused on eelgrass restoration (an essential fish habitat) in San Francisco Bay. Gwen has worked for NOAA Fisheries with the Columbia River Hydropower Branch and for the Department of Transportation’s Culvert Aquatic Organism Passage  Program. Prior to that Gwen was the lead ecologist for the restoration and revegetation program for the Klamath Dam Removal, in collaboration with the Yurok Tribe. Gwen lives in Portland, Oregon but continues her project work on fisheries restoration throughout the West Coast and Alaska.

Gwen joined SRF in 2020 and was elected to the Board in May 2023. Gwen continues to serve on the Board of SRF and is part of the Executive Committee as the Secretary.
