30x30 Global and Statewide Leaders in Dam Removal and Fish Passage Reconnecting Rivers and Communities

Session Coordinators: Wendy Katagi, CEP Natural Resources Market Leader, McMillen, Inc.

The State of California is advancing its 30x30 goals for river connectivity and fish passage across diverse geographies. Achieving these goals requires cross-sector collaboration and a focus on socio-ecological benefits, including removing barriers to fish passage, restoring flows and river connectivity, improving public safety and access to nature, and accelerating funding through partnerships. In this session, presenters will share lessons learned from Klamath Dam removals, Los Angeles River Flow Optimization and fish passage program, Rindge Dam and upstream barrier removals, and the river connectivity movement in Luxembourg and other parts of Europe.
