What are the lodging options for the Conference?

Our largest group block is at the Hyatt Sonoma Wine Country which is the conference venue. This group block is at the daily rate of $157 + tax and a daily resort fee of $10 per day. The grounds and facilities are beautiful and there’s nothing like the convenience of being right in the heart of the action! Parking is an additional fee of $9 per day. The Marriott Courtyard at 175 Railroad Street is offering the federal per diem rate of $157 which includes breakfast. The Courtyard is across from the Hyatt. This rate includes breakfast and free parking. Here is the group block reservation link.

This hotel is a 10 minute drive from the Conference venue.

What is the conference registration policy for the 2024 Conference?

2024 Conference registration fees will be substantially higher due to the increased cost of producing the conference in Santa Rosa at a hotel and conference center venue. Our advanced registration fees will be announced when we open registration. We are working hard to keep the workshop and tour fees similar but the conference fees may be $400 per person or more. SRF is committed to still offering affordable student rates, scholarships, and a discounted rate for retirees.

There will not be refunds for the 2024 Conference but registration fees can be transferred to another person in advance of the conference or registration fees can be deferred to 2025. Cancellations due to COVID-19 will be refunded after the conference.

How do I sign up for the Conference poster session?

Poster session registration is closed for the poster session that will be Thursday, March 28 at the conference venue. The form closed Monday, March 11, 2024. SRF encourages posters, pamphlet distribution, software exhibits, and multimedia (video) presentations. SRF recommends wall posters be no larger than 3' x 4' and be light enough to be supported by blue tape (no tacks or duct tape). There is plenty of space for free-standing posters for tabletop display like trifold or propped up foam core. SRF can provide a limited amount of stands for mounted posters. You must be registered to attend the conference to attend the poster session.

How do I apply for a scholarship to attend the 2024 Conference?

Thanks to the generous contributions from the Israel Family Fund, members, and co-sponsors, SRF will be offering Conference scholarships for the 41st Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference in Santa Rosa on March 26 -29, 2024. Scholarships are specifically for underrepresented members of the watershed restoration field including but not limited to, tribal members, students, and rural landowners.

The 2024 Scholarship application has closed. Scholarship recipients will be informed by February 8.

Please note:

Applicants do not need to pre-register for the Conference in order to submit a scholarship application.
Scholarships will cover 100% of registration fees but will not provide funds for travel and lodging.

How do I donate to the Conference Scholarship Fund?

SRF is thrilled that the Israel Family Fund is making a multi-year contribution to SRF's Conference scholarship fund. The SRF Conference in Santa Rosa will cost considerably more than other conferences. Please consider contributing to the conference scholarship fund that will enable tribal members, underrepresented fisheries students, and rural landowners to attend the premier salmon restoration conference in California.

How do I nominate someone for an award?

Please submit 200 words or more to nominate candidates for the illustrious Nat Bingham Memorial Restorationist of the Year Award, the Golden Pipe Award for Innovation, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Gordon Becker Memorial River Advocate Award. Please find descriptions of the awards page.

All of these awards will be presented at the 2024 Salmonid Restoration Conference.

What is the timeline for session and abstract submissions?

The call for session, workshop, and field tour proposals goes out in July and closes in August before the conference.

The Initial Call for Proposals closed on August 21, 2023.

The Call for Abstracts closed on November 15, 2023.

How do I submit an abstract for the SRF Conference?

The Call for Abstracts is open; to submit an abstract for a workshop or concurrent session, please fill out this form by November 15. Questions can be emailed to abstracts@calsalmon.org.

Please note that if a session does not receive enough abstracts to be viable, we may defer that session to a future year.

SRF has an Open Call for Abstracts process. The First Call for Abstracts is typically posted in September before the Conference date. The Final Call for Abstracts is typically posted in November before the Conference date.

What COVID protocols will SRF be taking at the SRF Conference?

SRF will follow all CDC and Sonoma County public health COVID precautions and recommendations. SRF recommends that all conference participants get tested prior to traveling to the conference.
