North Coast Water Rights Workshop

This Water Rights Workshop, hosted by Salmonid Restoration Federation (SRF), Trout Unlimited, and the Mendocino RCD, highlighted the necessary steps to come into compliance with California water law.

Topics included riparian and appropriative rights, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife 1600 permit process, the advantages of filing, how to distinguish between county regulations and state water law, and how to calculate water usage and project future small domestic and irrigation use. This workshop also highlighted why water conservation, planning, and stewardship is important for salmon and steelhead.
