Wild and Scenic Environmental Film
Festival On Tour

Thursday, March 8 in the Merlo Theater

The Salmonid Restoration Federation, Patagonia, and Coastwalk will host the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts Merlo Theater from 7 to 10pm on Thursday, March 8, 2007 as an exciting part of the 25th Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference. The WSEFF will feature the music video Down the Copper River and inspiring documentaries Birdsong and Coffee, Trout Grass, and Nomads. There will be a pizza and beer garden at the atrium of the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts prior to the film festival in the Merlo theater. Tickets are $12 at the door or $10 for Conference goers and students. Tickets are also available at REI and Copperfield's Books in Petaluma, Santa Rosa, and Sebastopol.

SRF Hosts a Restoration Track at the
River Network River Rally


SRF is a partner of the national organization the River Network which puts on an incredible annual conference for baykeepers, watershed stewards, and river advocates. This year SRF has developed a restoration track for this conference which includes workshops on fish passage, estuary restoration, fluvial geomorphology, capacity building for watershed groups, and sediment management. The River Rally is scheduled for May 18-22 in Skamania, Washington. Scholarship applications are due on March 15.

Conference Registration is Still Open, Please Register Now!

The Salmonid Restoration Federation will hold the 25th Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference entitled Celebrating a Generation of Salmonid Restoration & Recovery at the Wells Fargo Arts Center in Santa Rosa, California, March 7-10, 2007. The conference includes full-day workshops on dam removal and FERC relicensing, fish passage barrier removal tools, and estuary and lagoon restoration as well as concurrent sessions on biological, physical, and policy issues that affect salmonids. There will be a lively and educational poster session and a lively banquet, cabaret, award ceremony, and dance with Latin band Sambada. There are still a few spaces for the Salmon-Friendly Vineyard Tour, Sustainable Grazing, and the Prince Memorial Greenway Tour. Please register now to ensure a space on the vineyard or grazing tour and you can receive 6 Continuing Education Units.

All conference events take place at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts at 50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa on the north end of Santa Rosa.
The following field tours will begin at 8:30 am:
  • 2 Sustainable Vineyard Tour
  • 4 Bioengineering Tour
  • 7 Dutchbill Watershed tour
ALL other tours will begin at 9am.
Participants for all tours should arrive early to get their registration packets and pack a lunch. Please come prepared with a water bottle, rain gear and hiking boots.

Join the California Watershed Network, Salmonid Restoration Federation and other groups at the annual Watershed Day at the Capitol... a fun-filled day of networking and learning. This event also provides a great opportunity to remind legislators the importance of community-based watershed stewardship. Learn about SB 917 - a new bill to provide a sustainable source of funding for watershed stewardship and get advice from experts on how watershed partnerships can have a seat at the "IRWMP table"
