In 2012 the Salmonid Restoration Federation will produce the 30th Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference in Davis, California. The first two days of the conference will be filled with full-day workshops and field tours. A half-day plenary session will be followed by 1.5 days of technical, biological, and policy-related concurrent sessions. This conference will focus on a broad range of salmonid and watershed restoration topics of concern to restoration practitioners, watershed scientists, fisheries biologists, resource agency personnel, land-use planners, and landowners.

Where is the 2012 Conference Facility?

The conference is being held at the Veterans Memorial Center at 203 East 14th Street, Davis, CA.

What is the conference host hotel?

SRF has arranged discounted rates at the Hallmark Inn. And will arrange other group rates at additional Davis hotels as needed.

The Hallmark Inn is located at 110 F Street in Davis, CA. This premier hotel features a nightly cocktail reception and buffet breakfast. Group rates for doubles are $125 and singles are $115. The Aggie Inn is located at 245 1st Street, Davis, CA. The group block includes double rooms for $99, single queens for $89, King rooms for $95, and cottages with a bedroom and living room with a sofa bed for $115. If you are interested in presenting at the 2012 Salmonid Restoration Conference Poster Session, scheduled for Friday evening, April 6, please contact poster@calsalmon.org.

Space is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please indicate if you need wall space or an electrical outlet. Tables are provided but groups are encouraged to bring their own display board.

SRF Call for Awards Nominations for 2012 Conference

SRF Presents Awards for Outstanding Achievements in the Salmonid Restoration Field. If you would like to nominate someone for the Restorationist of the Year award, the Lifetime Achievement award or the Golden Pipe award, please submit 200 words describing the accomplishments of the nominee by February 4, 2012 to srf@calsalmon.org.

When do the field tours depart and from where?

All field tours depart from the Davis Veterans’ Memorial Center at 203 East 14th Street, Davis, CA, 93401.
If you are going on a field tour please arrive early so you can pack a lunch and be ready to depart at 9 am. Tours will return by 5 pm. Please come prepared with a water bottle, rain gear, and hiking boots.

Should I sign up for field tours and the Banquet in advance or can I decide at the conference?

Space is limited for the field tours and the Cabaret and Banquet. SRF expects that the banquet and field tours will sell out. We strongly advise advance registration to ensure that you can go on a field tour and attend the banquet. The Banquet includes a wild Copper River salmon dinner, local wine and beer, the awards ceremony, a Cabaret, and a great dance band.

If I am a presenter, do I need to fill out a registration form?

Yes, every person attending the conference needs to submit a registration form. If you are a presenter, please check the presenter box in the top right hand corner of the form. You can download a registration form from SRF’s web site at www.calsalmon.org. Please mail your registration form to SRF, PO Box 784 or fax it to (707) 923-3135. Presenters do not receive a discount at the conference.

If I register for a workshop or tour that is full will I be able to get a refund?

SRF will contact you to see if you would like to sign up for another workshop or tour. If not, we will provide a refund for your tour.
